Opposition political groups plan to demonstrate in Ankara, Jan. 27. As of Jan. 24, the start time and location are not known; the rally is likely to take place in Tandogan Square or another large public space. The leader of the Labor Party leader, Iskender Bayhan, has called for public sector workers to rally to demand improved pay and conditions. Political activists and civil society groups are likely to take part; attendance may reach low thousands of participants, based on previous events.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are possible near the demonstration site. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between protestors and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
