Activists to hold protests in border areas of California, Arizona, and Texas, US, Feb. 3, to protest migration policies.
Activists plan to hold rallies in several border areas of California, Arizona, and Texas on Feb. 3 to demand improved security on the border and a decrease in migration into the US. The protests are planned in three locations:
Camino de la Plaza, San Ysidro, California, starting at 09:00
Cornerstone Children's Ranch, Quemado, Texas, starting at 12:00
Riverside Drive, Yuma, Arizona, starting at 12:00
The rallies are part of a series of actions called "Take Our Borders Back" and include three convoys converging on the border areas from varying locations. The first convoy will depart from Norfolk, Virginia, on Jan. 29 and head to Quemado, near Eagle Pass, Texas. An additional convoy will start from District Springs, Texas, and move to Yuma, Arizona, on Feb. 1. The third one from San Ysidro, California, to Yuma, Arizona, on Feb. 3.
Hundreds are likely to participate in the convoys, with the possibility of a few thousand gathering for the main rallies on Feb. 3. Transports and business disruptions are likely on Feb. 3. Some protests may create disruptions at border crossings. Heightened security is also expected in the affected areas.
Heed instructions from authorities. Plan for delays if operating in the affected areas Feb. 3.
