Explosive device targets Goma International Airport in Goma, DRC early Feb. 17. No casualties occur, flights ongoing.
At least one but possibly two explosive devices targeted Goma International Airport (GOM) at approximately 02:00 Feb. 17. Information is limited; however, it is believed that up to two rockets targeted military aircraft stationed at the facility. No casualties or significant damage occurred in the incident and flights are ongoing. The source of the rocket fire is unconfirmed at present.
Increased security is likely at the facility in the near term; delays to access and egress, as well as to check-in services at GOM, are possible.
Monitor local developments; if planning to transit GOM, allow for additional time to pass through the facility. Heed the instructions of security personnel.
