Migrant groups plan to stage a protest march in and around Valletta on Feb. 25. The purpose of the action is to demand that the Maltese government take steps to provide migrants in the country with more stable living and working conditions. Demonstrators will assemble at the Hamrun Kiosk along St. Joseph High Street in Hamrun at 15:00 before marching to the parliament building in central Valletta, where a rally will occur. Organizers have released no details concerning the march route as of yet. It remains unclear how many participants the event will draw.
Authorities will almost certainly deploy increased security to the area as a precaution. Localized traffic disruptions are possible; violence is unlikely.
