Austria: Austrian Airlines cancels 110 flights scheduled for March 14

Austrian Airlines cancels 110 flights planned for March 14. Knock-on flight disruptions likely.

Warning

Austrian Airlines (OS) is canceling 110 flights scheduled for March 14, representing approximately one-third of planned trips. The cancellations are reportedly the result of a scheduled meeting of pilot and cabin crew personnel. The disruption comes in the wake of strikes by cabin personnel employed by Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines' parent company, on March 12 at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and March 13 at Munich Airport (MUC).

The cancelations will likely lead to knock-on and lingering flight disruptions through the morning of March 15.

Reconfirm all Austrian Airlines travel plans scheduled for March 14. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.

The latest flight crew meeting comes after related meetings on March 1 and 8, which resulted in the cancellation of 140 and 150 flights, respectively. Unionized cabin crew are likely using these meetings and their resulting flight disruptions to exert pressure on Austrian Airlines during ongoing wage negotiations.
