Anti-fascist groups to demonstrate in Heraklion, Greece, starting at 16:30 March 31. Increased security, transport disruptions likely.

Informational

Activists affiliated with the Heraklion Antifascist Coordinating Group plan to demonstrate in central Heraklion on March 31. The purpose of the action is to condemn fascism, homophobia, and misogyny, as well as to show solidarity with migrants. Participants will assemble at Lions Square (Plateia Liontarion) at 16:30. It remains unclear how many participants the event will draw or when the gathering will end.

Authorities will almost certainly deploy an increased police presence near the demonstration as a precaution. Localized transport disruptions are possible in the vicinity of Lions Square until the event ends and the participants have vacated the area.

As a precaution, avoid Lions Square while the demonstration is taking place. Allow extra time to reach nearby destinations. Leave the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
