Switzerland: Activists plan to demonstrate in central Geneva, March 2

Activists calling for peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) plan to demonstrate in Geneva from 12:00-17:00 March 2. The civil society group Collectif bana Suisse will gather to denounce violence in the east of the DRC. Attendees will gather from 12:00 at Place des Nations, and then march from 13:00 to Place de Neuve. It is not known how many will take part; local authorities have warned of traffic disruptions.

Heightened security measures will likely prompt disruptions in the city's central area. Changes to bus and tram services will prompt travel delays. The event is likely to pass off peacefully.
