Planned power outages will continue in parts of Phnom Penh through April 28. Utility provider Electricite du Cambodge has announced that electricity disruptions will occur on the following days:

  • April 26: In parts of Khan Por Sen Chey, Khan Kambol, and Khan Dangkor between 08:00-16:00.

  • April 27: In parts of Khan Russey Keo, Khan Por Sen Chey between 08:00-16:00.

  • April 28: In parts of Khan Por Sen Chey and Khan Prek Pnov between 08:00-16:00.

Transport disruptions are likely in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and gas stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.

Charge all communication and portable electronic devices when possible. Unplug electronic equipment that is not connected to surge protectors. Exercise caution when driving in areas affected by power outages. Confirm business appointments. Verify that security systems are operational, including after power is restored. Ensure that generators are functional and fully fueled.
