Costa Rica: Protest scheduled in San Jose April 3 to demand payments for educators
Unionized education workers plan to march in San Jose, Costa Rica, from 08:30 April 3 to demand allegedly owed payments.
Unionized education workers, including members of the Association of High School Teachers (Asociacion de Profesores de Segunda Ensenanza, APSE), plan to march in downtown San Jose starting at 08:30 April 3 to demand payments they allege government authorities owe them. Activists plan to gather at the Leon Cortes Statue in the La Sabana Metropolitan Park and march to the main offices of the Public Education Ministry along Paseo Colon and then to the Finance Ministry along Avenida Segunda.
Hundreds of activists are likely to participate, leading to significant transport disruptions throughout San Jose's downtown area. Heightened security is likely along the march route.
Avoid all protests as a precaution. Plan for delays and alternative routes if operating in San Jose April 3.
