Greece: Activist groups to protest at NATO Forward Operating Base Aktion April 21
Activists to demonstrate at NATO's FOB Aktion in Greece early April 21. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.
Activists affiliated with several labor, civil society, and political groups plan to demonstrate at NATO's Forward Operating Base (FOB) Aktion during the morning of April 21. The purpose of the rally is to show support for Palestine and to protest the alliance's alleged participation in the war in Ukraine. Participants will assemble outside the base starting at 11:00. It is unclear how many people have gathered to participate in the demonstration. FOB Aktion is co-located with Aktion International Airport (PVK)
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest. Demonstrators could attempt to march through the surrounding area, potentially disrupting access to PVK. Confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the protest area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling to or from PVK while the demonstration is taking place. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
