France: Olympic Flame to arrive in Rennes, June 1

The Olympic Flame will arrive in Rennes on June 1 as part of the nationwide Torch Relay leading up to the Paris Games 2024. Local authorities will implement comprehensive security restrictions to enable the planned commemorations. Police will close roads and impose traffic diversions along the planned route. Small-scale protests against the Olympics are possible. Multiple other sporting and cultural events will take place in the city over the weekend, June 1-2. The Torch and accompanying Olympic cavalcade, media, and security assets will follow the route:

• Start point: Le stade d’eaux vives de Cesson-Sevigne

• Relay route: Quai de la Vilaine, Musee des Beaux-Arts, Opera, Hotel de Ville and/or Palais du Commerce

• Endpoint and final celebration event: Esplanade Charles de Gaulle.
