Norway: Border control staff to strike at Oslo and Bergen airports from June 3
Unionized border staff to strike at Oslo and Bergen airports in Norway from June 3. Allow extra time to clear customs.
Unionized border control staff associated with the Unio labor union plan to start indefinite strikes at Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) and Bergen Flesland (BGO) airports on June 3. The purpose of the strikes is to support collective bargaining negotiations; it remains unclear how long the work stoppage will last.
Unless averted, the strike will likely prompt delays to clearing airport customs at the two targeted facilities. Striking workers may also stage pickets near airport entrances. Some flight disruptions are possible.
If booked to fly internationally via OSL or BGO during the strike period, arrive at the airport early to allow extra time to clear customs. Reconfirm flight schedules as a precaution; do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
