France: Activists to demonstrate in Paris June 20

Activists to protest at Place de la Bastille in Paris, France, from 18:30 June 20. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.

Informational

Activists plan to protest at Place de la Bastille in Paris from 18:30 June 20. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce an alleged sexual assault of a minor and antisemitism. It is not immediately clear how many participants may attend; however, several hundred participants reportedly attended a related demonstration in Paris on June 19.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or politically opposed passersby cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the protest area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near Place de la Bastille in the evening. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
