Spain: Activists gather to protest in several urban centers in Andalusia June 1
Activists are gathering to protest in several cities of Andalusia, Spain, June 1. Localized disruptions are likely.
Members of several social organizations, including the Andaluz People's Initiative (Iniciativa del Pueblo Andaluz), are participating in several marches across Andalusia on June 1 to denounce poor public service delivery in the region. Some of the protests planned on June 1 include the following:
Cadiz: Demonstration at Plaza de Asdrubal from 12:00
Cordoba: Demonstration at Plaza de las Tres Culturas from 11:00
Sevilla: March from Palacio de San Telmo to Setas de la Encarnacion from 11:00
Granada: March from Government Delegation of the Junta to Fuente de las Batallas from 11:00
Almeria: March from Puerta Purchena to Plaza de las Velas from 12:00
Protesters may also gather in central areas of other cities in Andalusia on June 1. Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near all protest sites. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid all protest sites as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near any of the planned demonstration locations. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
