Planned power outages to occur in parts of Bangkok, Thailand, through June 14 due to maintenance work. Disruptions likely.

The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has announced planned power outages across Bankgok through June 14 due to maintenance work. MEA has announced the following areas will be affected:

  • June 13: Outages will occur in Bangkok around Sakae Ngam Road, Sathu Pradit Road, Phetchaburi Road, ​​New Petchaburi Road, Luecha Road, Rama 2 Road, Soi Phetchaburi, and Soi Bio House Promchit, 09:00-23:00. Outages will occur in Nonthaburi at Ratchaphruek and Srisamarn Road, 15:00-23:59. Samut Prakan will experience outages along the Theparak Road from 15:30-18:30.

  • June 14: Planned outages are slated to take place in Nonthaburi along the Ratchaphruek Road at 00:01-4:30.

Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Transport disruptions are likely in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and gas stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.

Charge all communication and portable electronic devices when possible. Unplug electronic equipment that is not connected to surge protectors. Exercise caution when driving in areas affected by power outages. Confirm business appointments. Verify that security systems are operational, including after power is restored. Ensure that generators are functional and fully fueled.
