As of late July 31, firefighters are responding to a large fire at a shopping center in the Piedra Blanca area of Bajos de Haina, in the Santo Domingo area. The cause of the blaze is not immediately apparent. At least 14 firefighting vehicles have been deployed. Two firefighters are being treated for smoke inhalation.
