Public transportation drivers are striking in Kinshasa July 29. The strike is being organized by the Association of Congo Drivers (ACCO) to demand an increase in the price of public transport as well as to denounce harassment by parking agents. Few buses and taxis are reportedly operating in Kinshasa. Associated protests are likely throughout the city during the course of the day.

Transport disruptions are likely during the strike. Authorities could deploy increased security to monitor gatherings of striking workers should they materialize. Clashes are possible if security forces attempt to disperse protesters.
