A protest march by several hundred political activists accompanied by about 15 vehicles is prompting significant traffic disruptions in parts of Puebla, Puebla State, July 24. The purpose of the action is to demand that the state's electoral court take up legal challenges filed with regard to the most recent local elections. Demonstrators are moving along Calzada Zavaleta and will march to the Puebla Electoral Court where the protest will end.

Although the action should remain largely peaceful, authorities will almost certainly maintain a tight security posture along the march route as a precaution. Localized transport disruptions could extend for several hours after the demonstration ends and the participants disperse.

Avoid the demonstration as a precaution. Allow additional time for travel in central Puebla on July 24. Heed all official transport and security advisories.
