Utility provider Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Phuket has announced that planned power outages are occurring in parts of Kathu District, Phuket, until 16:30 July 12 due to maintenance works. The electricity disruptions affect areas from Wichi Songkhram Road to Soi Namtok Kathu.

Transport disruptions are likely in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and gas stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.
