Bosnia and Herzegovina: Emergency response ongoing following shooting incident at school in Sanski Most Aug. 21

Emergency services and law enforcement officers are responding to a shooting incident at the Mixed High School in Prijedorska Street, Sanski Most Aug. 21. At least three staff members were killed when another school employee opened fire during a staff meeting in the gymnasium. An unconfirmed number of other people were also injured. The attacker then attempted to shoot themself and has been taken to hospital in Banja Luka. The motive for the attack remains unconfirmed.

Heightened security and significant transport disruptions are likely in the area until at least late Aug. 21.
