Environmental activists plan to hold a protest on the banks of the Drina river, by the Pavlovic Bridge, at the Bosnia and Herzegovina-Serbia border from 18:00 Aug. 18. The action will denounce ongoing mining works in the region affecting the river Drina. Several hundred demonstrators will likely participate.
Authorities will likely deploy increased security to monitor the event; limited delays and disruptions at the Bosnia and Herzegovina-Serbia border are likely. Road travel and transport disruptions in the vicinity of the gathering are likely. Violence is not anticipated.
Allow additional time if traveling near the protest site and through the Pavlovic Bridge border crossing point on Aug. 18. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
