Germany: Unionized pharmacy workers to protest in Dresden and Erfurt Aug. 28

Unionized pharmacists affiliated with the Independent Pharmacy Association (Freien Apothekerschaft) plan to protest in central Dresden and Erfurt 15:00-17:00 Aug. 28 to denounce the government's pharmacy reform plan. At least 2,000 people are expected to participate in both protests which will occur at the following locations:

• Dresden: Postplatz

• Erfurt: State Chancellery

Authorities will likely deploy increased security to monitor the gatherings. Road travel and transport disruptions are likely near the protest sites. The events are likely to pass peacefully.
