Protest demanding release of hostages in Gaza ongoing outside David Kempinski Hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel, as of late Aug. 19.
Protesters have gathered outside the David Kempinski Hotel in Tel Aviv as of late Aug. 19 to demand the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is in Israel as part of a diplomatic effort to broker a ceasefire, is staying at the hotel. Activists are calling on Blinken to encourage the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire deal.
Increased security, as well as transport disruptions are likely near the Kempinski Hotel through the evening of Aug. 19. Demonstrators may also gather in the surrounding areas.
Avoid the protest area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the demonstration site. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
