Multiple activist groups are demonstrating in Mexico City on Aug. 19. The most disruptive gatherings include the following demonstrations:

  • Approximately 600 members of the National Union of Oil Technicians and Professionals (Union Nacional de Tecnicos y Profesionistas Petroleros (UNTyPP) are staging a rally outside the PEMEX administrative tower from 08:00.

  • Around 400 total members of the Movement of Workers of the Federal Judiciary (Movimiento de Trabajadores del Poder Judicial de la Federacion) are protesting at the Federal Judiciary buildings at both Avenida Revolucion 1508 and Perferico Sur 2321 in the borough of Alvaro Obregon and will continue throughout the day.

Although the gatherings should remain largely peaceful, authorities will likely deploy an increased police presence near the demonstrations as a precaution. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely along the march routes.
