A shooting incident has left one tourist dead and two others injured in the Ciudad Renacimiento area of Acapulco, Guerrero State, early Aug. 24. Preliminary reports indicate that the victims were shot while waiting for a hired car to pick them up for their return trip to their home in Mexico City. The motivation for the incident and the identity of the perpetrators remain unclear.
Increased security and localized transport and business disruptions are likely near the scene of the shooting as authorities investigate the incident.
