Poland: Activists to demonstrate nationwide Aug. 29-30
Education activists to protest in urban centers across Poland Aug. 29-30. Heightened security, localized transport disruptions likely.
Activists plan to protest at Education Offices (Kuratorium Osviaty) across Poland Aug. 29-30. The purpose of the demonstrations is to denounce the introduction of sex education classes in schools. Planned demonstrations include but are not limited to:
Krakow: Protest at the Education Office on Szlak from 12:00 Aug. 29.
Poznan: Protest at the Education Office on Kosciuzki from 11:00 Aug. 30.
Rzeszow: Protest at Education Office on Grunwaldzka from 14:30 Aug. 29.
Szczecin: Protest at Education Office on Waly Chrobrego from 12:00 Aug. 30.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near any demonstrations. Further picket protests may form at educational facilities across the country. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and politically opposed individuals or law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
