Poland: Activists to march through central Warsaw Aug. 31
Activists to protest proposed housing legislation in central Warsaw, Poland, from 14:00 Aug. 31. Transport, business disruptions possible.
Activists protesting against proposed legislation to facilitate the building of new accommodation are to march through central Warsaw on Aug. 31. Protesters are to gather at Trzech Krzyzy Square at 14:00 before marching to the Sejm (Parliament) of Poland building via Wiejska Street. The march will then end at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, taking Piekna and Ujazdowskie avenues to get there.
Transport disruptions are likely along the march route. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and politically opposed individuals or law enforcement officers, though unlikely, cannot be ruled out.
Avoid affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest march. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
