Serbia: Ethnic Albanians to protest in Bujanovac, Aug. 12

Ethnic Albanians plan to protest in central Bujanovac from 11:00 Aug. 12. The National Council of Albanians (NSA) is organizing the action to protest alleged discrimination against ethnic Albanians in Bujanovac and Presevo. Dozens to a few hundred people are likely to participate in the action.

Additional related gatherings are possible in Presevo and other areas in far southern Serbia with significant ethnic Albanian communities. Officials will likely deploy to monitor all gatherings. Localized road travel delays are likely near all protests. Clashes between demonstrators and security personnel are possible.
