Animals rights activists are staging a protest march in central Palma de Mallorca during the evening of Aug. 24. The purpose of the event is to condemn the treatment of draft horses used to pull carriages in the city. Participants assembled at Porta de Santa Catalina Square at 19:00 before starting to march to the Ayuntamiento de Palma building.
Although the even will probably remain peaceful, authorities will almost certainly deploy additional police to the area as a precaution. Localized transport disruptions are possible.
