Opposition activists associated with the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) plan to protest in Diyarbakir, Izmir, and Van Sept. 1. The purpose of the demonstrations is to demand peace and strengthened democratization in Turkiye, particularly regarding state relations with ethnic Kurdish populations.
