Argentina: Airline and airport workers plan rally outside the National Congress in Buenos Aires, Sept. 25

Unionized airline and airport workers plan demonstration outside the National Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 10:00 Sept. 25.

Informational

Unionized air travel workers, affiliated with numerous organizations, including the Airline Pilots Association (Asociacion de Pilotos de Lineas Aereas, APLA), plan to hold a rally outside the National Congress, in Buenos Aires, starting at 10:00 Sept. 25. The action is to protest a legislative debate over the possibility of privatizing Aerolineas Argentinas (AA), the state-owned national airline.

The protest is likely to gather hundreds, or a few thousand activists and prompt heightened security measures and transport disruptions around the National Congress. Additional security personnel will likely deploy to monitor and manage the event. Significant violence is unlikely.

Avoid all protests as a precaution. Plan for delays and alternative routes if operating in downtown Buenos Aires the morning of Sept. 25.
