Argentina: Government workers to hold a nationwide strike, protest in Buenos Aires, on Sept. 26

Unionized public workers, affiliated with the Government Workers Association (Asociacion de Trabajadores del Estado, ATE), plan to hold a nationwide strike on Sept. 26 to oppose layoffs by the national government. Union leaders said ATE workers in the city of Buenos Aires will leave their posts starting at 12:00 and will hold a rally at Plaza de Mayo outside the presidential offices of Casa Rosada.
