Unionized air traffic controllers affiliated with the State Workers Association (Asociacion Trabajadores del Estado, ATE) and National Civil Aviation Administration (Administracion Nacional de Aviacion Civil, ANAC) have announced a strike across all commercial airports in Argentina Sept. 19 to denounce job cuts and the lack of pay increase. Workers have planned the walkout to occur in two phases, between 06:00 and 12:00 and between 17:00 and 22:00.

Severe flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, are almost certain across Argentina Sept. 19; lingering disruptions are probable Sept. 20 as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs. Demonstrations are likely near airports, public squares, and government buildings in major cities during the strike period.
