Informational

Political activists affiliated with libertarian organizations and free speech activists plan to rally at Place de la Republique, Paris, from 14:00 Sept. 15. Participants aim to denounce the arrest of Russian-born entrepreneur Pavel Durov, owner of the instant messaging service Telegram. Durov was arrested in France on Aug. 24 on charges related to criminal activity on Telegram due to Durov's alleged lack of moderation. It remains unclear how many participants will attend the event. Organizers have not yet confirmed the end time of the event.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest sites. Violence is not anticipated.

Avoid the affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
