France: Unionized rail workers plan strike in Paris, Sept. 23-25
Unionized rail personnel on the RER B line plan strike in Paris, France 23:00 Sept. 23-06:00 Sept. 25. Rail transport disruptions likely.
Unionized rail personnel employed by the operator Regie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) on the RER B line in Paris plan to strike 23:00 Sept. 23-06:00 Sept. 25. Workers affiliated with the CGT, FO, La Base, and UNSA transport unions announced Sept. 16 that they will strike to demand improvements to security measures on the network. The RER B line connects Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) to several stations in central Paris, ending at Saint-Remy-les-Chevreuse station.
The strike will likely disrupt rail operations on the RER B line. Increased congestion is likely on alternative transport services, particularly at CDG. Residual delays are possible in the hours following the official strike. Striking personnel may participate in picket demonstrations at transport hubs.
Reconfirm train schedules if traveling on the RER B line during the affected period. Organize alternative transport if traveling to or from CDG during the industrial action. Allocate additional travel time to account for increased congestion in stations and on services that do operate. Avoid all possible demonstrations.
