Activists affiliated with the Seebruecke organization plan to protest in several cities across Germany Sept. 27-29. The purpose of the demonstrations is to denounce the tightening of laws on asylum. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend. Organizers announced the following demonstrations:
Bremen: Am Brill from 12:00 Sept. 28.
Giessen: Kreuzplatz from 17:00 Sept. 27.
Hamburg: Hansaplatz from 12:00 Sept. 28.
Konstanz: Marktstatte from 12:05 Sept. 28.
Leipzig: Suedplatz from 15:00 Sept. 29.
Lueneburg: Clamartpark from 15:00 Sept. 29.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near all protest sites. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or ideologically opposed individuals are possible.
Avoid all protest areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near any demonstration sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
