Pro-immigration and anti-right-wing activists plan to demonstrate in central Leipzig Sept. 25-26. Civil society groups will gather in Willy Brandt Platz from 16:00 on Sept. 25 to demand more open immigration policies. On Sept. 26, the group Grannies against the Right (Omas gegen Recht) will gather from 16:00 at the Volksbank in Schillerstrasse, to demonstrate against the AfD (Alternatif fur Deutschland) party. It is likely that several hundred participants will attend each event.

Authorities will deploy increased security to each event location. Transport disruptions are likely in central Leipzig during the protests. Right-wing activists may stage counter-protests at each event.
