Activists plan to gather at Legon Okponglo and march towards Independence Square in Accra daily from 09:00 Oct. 3-5. The action has been called under the slogans "FreeTheCitizens" and "SayNoToGalamsay" to denounce illegal mining known as "Galamsey" and demand the release of activists arrested during a similar demonstration in September. It is unclear if permission has been granted for the gathering. The event may draw thousands of participants.
