Honduras: Protesters gather along CA-13 Highway near La Lima Sept. 10

Residents of the La Flor de Oriente sector in La Lima are gathering along the CA-13 Highway on Sept. 10 to denounce power outages and water shortages affecting the area. Participants are blocking traffic along the highway with burning debris.

Residents may continue to stage protests in the area in the coming days if issues with utilities persist. Traffic disruptions will likely continue in the coming hours; passengers traveling to Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport (SAP) could face traffic delays. Although the gathering is likely to remain peaceful, skirmishes cannot be ruled out, especially if police attempt to disperse protesters forcibly.
