Flight disruptions and periodic airspace closures will take place at Chennai International Airport (MAA) Oct. 1-8 due to the Indian Air Force Day Air Show. The air show will include aerial performances at Marina Beach Oct. 6 in celebration of the Indian Air Forces' (IAF) 92nd anniversary. In preparation for the event, airspace closures ranging in duration from 15 minutes to two hours are scheduled to begin on Oct. 1. The closures will take place at the following specific dates and time frames:
Oct. 1: 13:45-15:15
Oct. 2: 11:00-13:00
Oct. 3: 10:45-11:00
Oct. 4: 11:00-13:00
Oct. 5: 10:45-11:00 and 14:00-15:00
Oct. 6: 11:00-13:00
Oct. 7: 10:45-11:00
Oct. 8: 10:45-11:00
Lingering flight delays are possible after normal operations resume as airlines clear their passenger backlogs.
