Ireland: Activists to stage protest march in central Dublin Sept. 18

Activist groups plan to march through central Dublin on Sept. 18 to condemn alleged wrongdoing by banks and so-called vulture funds, and to demand greater transparency at financial institutions. Dubbed the "March for Justice," the event will begin at 11:30 with participants gathering at the Four Courts before to Leinster House, with intermediary stops at Dublin Castle and the Bank of Ireland. The demonstration is slated to end at 14:30; it is unclear how many people will take part in the march.

Increased security, as well as localized transport and business disruptions are likely along the route. While the event will probably remain largely peaceful, some minor confrontations between demonstrators and security personnel cannot be ruled out.
