Moldova: Activists to demonstrate in Chisinau Sept. 25

Activists affiliated with the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova plan to protest at the Moldova 1 television building on Hincesti Highway in Chisinau from 13:30 Sept. 25. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the Moldova 1 channel's alleged refusal to provide free airtime for the Party of Communists' preelection address ahead of an Oct. 20 referendum. It was not immediately clear how many people would participate in the demonstration.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or ideologically opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the protest as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the Moldova 1 building. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
