Slovenia: Activists to demonstrate in Ljubljana, Oct. 1
Activists to march from RTV S building to Republic Square in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 14:00 Oct. 1. Heightened security likely.
Activists plan to march through central Ljubljana from 14:00 on Oct. 1. The demonstration's purposes include demanding increases in retiree benefits and reductions in the cost of state services. Participants will gather at the Radiotelevision Slovenia (RTV S) building on Kolodvorska Ulica before marching to Republic Square (Trg Republike). It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend; however, large crowds are possible.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely at rally sites and along the march route. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, frustrated motorists, or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the rally sites or the march route. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
