Heightened security is likely in and around Mogadishu's Wadajir District, especially in the vicinity of the Halane compound, which was reportedly targeted by mortar fire early Sept. 5. The facility is located near Aden Adde International Airport (MGQ). No casualties or damage was immediately reported. It is unclear if any flight disruptions are occurring at this time.

Localized transport and business disruptions are probable in the affected area. Similar attacks may target the Halane camp or other parts of Mogadishu over the short term.

Avoid the incident site and exercise increased vigilance until the situation normalizes. Consider taking alternative routes to circumvent the affected area and any disruptions.
