Public education activists accompanied by unionized workers are demonstrating in Zaragoza, Huesca, and Teruel as of early evening Sept. 18. The purpose of the demonstrations is to denounce planned education budget cuts. It was not immediately clear how many participants would ultimately attend the gatherings. Demonstrations are occurring in the following locations:
Zaragoza: Plaza de Aragon
Huesca: Plaza de Navarra
Teruel: Plaza del Torico
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near all demonstration sites. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid all protest sites as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near any demonstration locations. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
