Authorities reopen airspace in Erzurum, Turkiye, as of early Sept. 7 following earlier bomb threat investigation. Flight disruptions likely.

Warning

Authorities have the airspace at Erzurum Airport (ERZ) as of early Sept. 7 after concluding a security operation in response to a Sept. 6 bomb threat. Vistara (UK) flight UK27, scheduled to fly from Mumbai to Frankfurt, made an emergency landing at ERZ following reports of a bomb on board. The investigation concluded at approximately 23:30 with officials finding no explosive device on the aircraft and determining the threat had been a hoax.

Lingering disruptions will likely continue at ERZ into the mid-morning hours as carriers reposition aircraft and work through their passenger backlogs.

Confirm flight arrangements if booked to travel via ERZ through at least the late morning hours of Sept. 7. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
