Armenia: Activists to demonstrate in Yerevan Oct. 29
Activists to protest UN Office before marching to Foreig Ministry, France, Russia, and US embassies in Yerevan, Armenia, from 14:00 Nov. 1.
Activists plan to march through central Yerevan Nov. 1. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the holding of the UN Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP29) in Baku. Large crowds may attend the gathering. Participants will gather at the UN Office on Petros Adamyan Street from 14:00 before marching to the following locations:
Embassy of France on Grigor Lusavorich Street.
Embassy of Russia on Grigor Lusavorich Street.
Embassy of the US on American Avenue.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Vazgen Sargsyan Street.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near all protest sites and all procession routes. Confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, potentially escalating to clashes, cannot be ruled out.
Avoid all protest areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near any protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
