Armenia: Activists to demonstrate in central Yerevan Nov. 15
Activists to protest at UN Office in Yerevan, Armenia, from 14:00 Nov. 15. Heightened security, localized transport disruptions likely.
Activists plan to protest at the UN Office on Petros Adamyan Street in Yerevan from 14:00 Nov. 15. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the fact that Baku, Azerbaijan, is hosting the UN Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP29). The gathering could draw large numbers of participants, particularly considering that several prominent foreign activists will be attending.
Police will likely deploy to facilitate the demonstration. Associated road closures may prompt localized travel disruptions. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, or among activist from rival political camps, cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the protest area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest site. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance .
