Unionized taxi drivers plan to protest in six cities in Bulgaria on Oct. 25. The purpose of the demonstrations is to demand satisfactory sentences in a court case concerning an attack against a taxi driver. Protest participants will demonstrate at the following sites 08:00-10:00:
Burgas: Burgas District Court on Ulitsa Aleksandrovska.
Plovdiv: Plovdiv Regional Court on 6-ti Septemvri Boulevard.
Sofia: Sofia City Court on Vitosha Boulevard.
Veliko Tarnovo: Veliko Tarnovo City Courthouse on Vasil Levski Boulevard.
Vratsa: Vratsa Regional Courthouse on Hristo Botev Boulevard.
Yambol: Yambol Municipal Courthouse on Ulitsa Zhorzh Papazov.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near all protest sites. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near any protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
