Iran: Authorities close airspace until at least Oct. 2 in anticipation of strike in retaliation for Oct. 1 missile attack on Israel
Iran closes airspace until at least Oct. 2 in anticipation of strike in retaliation for Oct. 1 missile attack on Israel.
Officials in Iran have reportedly suspended all domestic and international flights to the country's airports, including Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA), until at least Oct. 2 in anticipation of a military strike in retaliation for the nation's late Oct. 1 missile attack against Israel.
Significant disruptions will likely affect flights transiting or serving Iranian airports over the short term. Residual flight disruptions are likely even after the suspension is lifted as carriers reposition aircraft and work through their passenger backlogs.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via an Iranian airport or airspace. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
